Odisha Plus II admission process ended on Saturday – Latest Breaking News

BHUBANESWAR: Plus II admission process completed on Saturday. The final admission (spot admission) was held on Friday after the entry of the first and second selections.

Around 3.84 lakh students applied for admission for 4, 53, 643 seats in 2028 higher secondary schools in Odisha this year. “We will update the admissions data of students who have taken in-place selections in e-space immediately by higher secondary schools,” said Brundaban Behera, director of higher secondary education.

Behera said that the date for starting physical classes in schools is yet to be announced. He said, “Admission is over. We will update the students’ data. The School and Mass Education Department will take decisions regarding classes on campus.”

The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education under the state’s Department of School and Public Education had invited online applications from students starting on August 21. The first merit list was published on 18 September, while the merit list of the second selection was announced on 5 October. The list was published on 15 October for admission the next day.

After completing the first year of admission process for Plus II, the government plans to start online classes for new entrants by November. Sources said that students attending physical classes on campus may take time.

The Department of School and Public Education has already started online classes for second year students through the conference application. Notes are being shared with students through WhatsApp and email. It has started broadcasting video lectures in Doordarshan channel for students of science and other streams. It will also soon start online classes for Plus II first year students.
