CA Foundation to hold young and inspire students to pursue careers – Latest Breaking News

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) may allow students of class X to register for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Foundation course, but are they ready to take up the challenge? ICAI has claimed to have received approval from the government to amend the admission requirement for CA courses. Earlier, only students of class XII were eligible to apply for the course. The recent move will enable students of class X to apply for foundation courses of ICAI but under provisional registration category.

“After the amendments, a student need not wait for the completion of class XII examinations to get provisional registration for the foundation course. Since registration is provisional, a student who fails to appear for the twelfth grade exam but finishes the foundation exam will still need to clear the class 12th exams, which is eligible to move to the next stage. , ”Says Atul Kumar Gupta, president of ICAI.

The early entry of tenth grade students, he says, will ensure that students remain committed to the CA profession. “We are looking for students who have a passion for the profession.”

“From time to time, the institute reviews its system of education and training to make it more contemporary and relevant to the global market. ICAI has been undertaking various initiatives from time to time, with the main objective of developing the skills required for chartered accountants and enhancing their professional skills. Since the foundation exam is nothing but to assess the application of concepts that students are studying in the eleventh-twelfth grade, it would be in their interest to start their efforts early on to a professional career, ”he says Huh.

Denying the possibility that the recent development will lead to a coaching culture where students start preparing for the CA Foundation course from class XI, like engineering, Gupta explains that foundation study materials as well as free virtual coaching classes Conducts The institute has simplified teaching as students can study from their place without any hindrance. “They are not required to go for any external coaching. Apart from this, e-books are also made available to the students.

Gupta explains that students wishing to join CA course can plan like any other profession. “They can start their preparation together with their regular school as the subjects studied by the students during XI and XII are included in the foundation course.”

His views are echoed by Krishna Lal Khatri, an accounting teacher in Delhi-NCR. “Commerce students preparing for the board cover 80% -85% of the CA Foundation syllabus in subjects like Mathematics, Statistics and Accountancy. The law, which is theoretical, can be covered without the help of teachers. Students must have strong conceptual knowledge for the foundation examination and plus two courses can equip them with the requisite knowledge. ”

He further adds that tenth grade students who are mostly 15-year-olds are uncertain about their aspirations and qualifications. It is the decisions and aspirations of their parents that matter, and the students get busy fulfilling them. Those who pass class X may not have maturity as students who pass class XII think of a long-term career path, ”says Khatri.
